I wanted to drop you a line as we head towards the end of a truly wild year on planet Earth.
This campaign is now closed. It was my first time running a crowdfunding project, and suffice to say I learned a lot. MASSIVE THANK YOUS to everyone who was supportive, patient, and compassionate with me and the team! And now...
The Future!
Several sweet folks have asked about the future of SfSx. Well, as you all experienced, publishing a book through Image is a heavy lift in terms of both labor and financing. I have a lot of people I want to work with again and a lot of ideas for volume three (schlocky mad scientistvibes, the answer to the question "what does the religious right think safe sex actually looks like?" and a closure to a trilogy, for now at least...) But I think it might have to simmer on the back burner while I work on a couple of things that are helping me make ends meet right now, including...
My major literary nonfiction book deal! It's the book version of my long running indie podcast Why Are People Into That?!— which I also plan on bringing back in 2023.
An unannounced graphic novel project with the incredible Lisa Sterle. I'll give you a little hint: it's about detectives and cults. Stay tuned for more!
Ok, a couple more things before I go:

Hey everyone, just a reminder! I'm extending the deadline to this Friday:
You have until June 3rd to fill out your survey and claim your rewards for this campaign!
Surveys and fulfillment will close on June 3rd!
If you don't complete your survey by June 3rd, your pledge will be considered a donation to the project and you will officially forgo your rewards!
(Obviously, if you fill out your survey by EOD Friday, your reward will be fulfilled even after the campaign is closed.)

Hey party people! I've got all kinds of good news for ya!
White Squirrel is back in full stock, which means if you've filled out your survey, your rewards are in the actual mail to you as we speak!
Do you want to hear the saga of the money wire delays and Diamond invoices and warehouse mix-ups and shipping slogs? Suffice it to say I never realized how many different elements would require coordination for fulfillment, and how many delays that could cause. I know some of you have some but not all of your rewards, and some are still waiting on your first shipment. But they're really and truly en route to you now!
